Hola,
So yea its my second week here in Xela and the start of my second week of spanish classes.
All in all things are good - spanish class is hard, but that is what i expected.
My class consists of literally one-on-one lectures, tests and conversations for 5 hours in the morning. Its a great way to learn, but a little taxing.
After class I head home for lunch, usually rice with some veggies and beans, then off to group activities, off to dinner and I study until bed.
Its pretty simple living here, but i like it.
My group gets along great! We all attend the same school, but have different teachers, and we are all in different levels of spanish. We spend our afternoons, some evenings and weekends together - its seriously a blast. I couldn't have gotten a better group of people to be with.
So enough of an update, because im just fine!
At school i sit in one room with my maestra and one other pair of student and teacher... Every single time my teacher and I leave for coffee or tea the other teacher asks us if we are going to get a cervesa...a drink, like beer. EVER TIME she asks us, like twice a day sometimes. Its halarious because everytime she cracks up like its a new joke... and its definently not.
Also our room smells like the bathroom of a retirement home. seriously imagine that. And we(the 4 of us in the room) often converse about the smell... it takes a good portion out of the day!
Also our teachers love to talk about Obama with us... they love obama, at least the two teachers in our room... but they think McCains Vice is very pretty, so they want her and Obama to run together... so funny!!!
All in all spanish class is good, its challenging, but good and we have halarious conversations that i usually understand! ;)
Well thats it for me, i have SOOOOOO many more stories, but its almost dinner time here.
Paz y amor,
Anita
